A list of Churches

St James Parish Church

Over 200 people come to St James every Sunday. Our common faith and worship is at the heart of our community. So too is fellowship. After our Sunday morning services many people gather for coffee and refreshments in the Parish Centre allowing newcomers to meet people and everyone to come together informally.

North West Surrey Synagogue

NWSS is a very special place to be. We are a constituent member of the Movement for Reform Judaism which means that we try to be open and inclusive while valuing the traditional Jewish values of learning, caring for each other and praying together.

Our members come from throughout the length and breadth of Surrey and beyond! They have diverse backgrounds, needs and interests which make the community an interesting and lively place. There are young couples, families with children, and those no longer quite so young. Singles and marrieds. Those whose partners are Jewish and those whose partners are not. Jews by Choice. Citizens of the world stopping off for just a few years in Weybridge and locals who have been with us for years.

Weybridge United Reformed Church

Weybridge United Reformed Church was founded on 5th April 1865 and the present building was dedicated six weeks later. In 1972 it became part of the new United Reformed Church which includes Congregational, Presbyterian and Churches of Christ traditions in England, Wales and Scotland. The United Reformed Church is a Protestant church, in the Reformed tradition, the largest world-wide family of churches.

Weybridge United Reformed Church is part of the Wessex Synod of the United Reformed Church. In common with all United Reformed Churches, members elect Elders, who share with the Minister in the spiritual and pastoral oversight of the church. All members of the church share together in the Church Meeting, the decision-making body of the church.

Whichever church tradition you come from (or perhaps from none), you are very welcome to join with us in our worship and activities.

St Mary Oatlands

St Mary Oatlands is an Anglican church in the Diocese of Guildford and is situated between Weybridge and Walton-on-Thames. St Mary’s church building is the focus for a large number of people who come together to worship God and discover more about how their faith can relate to their everyday lives.  Some have been Christians for years, whilst others are exploring faith for the first time.

St Mary`s Church

‘For over 1000 years the House of God has stood on the low hill overlooking the river Thames. During these centuries the Family of God has come to this place to offer Him praise and worship, the service of their lives, and to receive from Him His gifts of Grace. The great moments of their lives have been blessed by the ministry of His sacraments; their joys and sorrows have been shared with Him and their needs have been offered to Him in prayer.

Kings and Queens have worshipped here; young and old have sung their praises here; week by week, year in year out, the members of the Church Family have come here in ages past as they do today. The Church has never been just a building, but the home of the living fellowship of those who belong to the Lord – who are the Church.’

Walton Baptist Church

The Church was established about 105 years ago and our premises are usefully located just off Walton High Street in Winchester Road. It is an active family church with around 180 members drawn from the surrounding area. Our purpose is to know God and make Him known, and to be together in worship, prayer, fellowship and witness as we share God’s love and new life in Jesus.

We believe the Bible has been inspired by God, is true, and has authority to guide everything to do with faith and how we live our lives. It shows us what God is like, how we can know Him, and about Jesus Christ, God’s Son – His dying for our sins, resurrection from the dead, gift of the Holy Spirit (His power for living), gift of eternal life, and much more.

St Erconwald’s Catholic Church

The History of the Catholic Church in Walton

The main part of St Erconwald’s Church was built in 1937, the extension containing the Sanctuary followed in 1951.
The original church was in fact the building we use today as the hall which was built in 1906. The photos below show the contrast between the splendour of the original church and the hall we know today!

Walton Methodist Church

ELMBRIDGE Community Link is a registered charity that works with around 140 members from the borough of Elmbridge who have learning difficulties. It meets at Walton Methodist Church and offers a soft indoor sports afternoon project once a week in addition to five other workshops. At the sports project, members take part in a series of strenuous exercises and competitions, which is followed by a ‘cooling down’ relaxation period.

The project is run by a facilitator with the help of local volunteers and carers. The members are taught the importance of healthy exercise and the project runs hand in hand with a community living skills workshop where the members are encouraged to cook healthy, low-fat meals. Elmbridge Community Link also runs  a monthly music workshop for people with learning difficulties and this culminates in an end of year concert for friends, family, volunteers and supporters.

This will help organisers run both the sporting and the music project.
