St James C of E Primary School

St. James is a Church of England Voluntary Controlled School. This means it is controlled by Surrey County Council, but still maintains healthy links with the local Parish Church of St. James. The school caters for boys and girls between the ages of 4 and 11. It can accommodate 420 pupils – large enough to offer a wide number of activities, but small enough to ensure that every child remains an individual. Centrally located in Weybridge, the school benefits from extensive grounds, a large playing field, woodland and access to Broadwater Lake.

We have adopted a policy of two form entry mixed ability classes. The structure has been carefully planned to include teaching in ability groups for some subjects. This means your child will have greater opportunities to be challenged and supported.

Manby Lodge Infant School

Welcome to Manby Lodge Infants School, we offer all children a great start to their education and we provide an excellent learning community.

At the heart of our philosophy is Values Led Education where we teach life values to our pupils to give them the foundation of becoming good citizens of the future. The values are integrated into the children’s lives through the curriculum, school organisation and community links.

We have a two year programme of values and focus on a value each month – values such as honesty, respect and friendship enable children to develop good social skills; this in turn promotes good self esteem. As a school we work in partnership with other local infant, junior and senior schools and this provides continuity on Values Led Education within the local community.

The school is very proud of the high standards it achieves. We are confident that we are consistently able to support children in meeting their potential through the ongoing process of teacher assessment, target setting, high quality teaching, strong leadership and management and a well planned, high quality curriculum.

Our end of Key Stage 1 results have remained above the national average, in many instances, significantly above. We analyse assessment data to help us identify areas for improvement and to compare the achievement of different groups of children. This information is used to plan actions which will ensure that all children progress well and fulfil their potential.

Bell Farm Junior School

In July 2007, Bell Farm received Unicef’s Rights Respecting Schools Award (Level 1), the first school in Surrey to do so. Unicef have adopted the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and work across the world to make children’s rights a reality for all children, encouraging children themselves to take on responsibilities towards others.

In learning about their rights, our children understand that to enjoy their rights they have to become rights respecters. Children learn that they have responsibilities in our school, our community and our wider world. At Bell Farm, we are continuing to learn about rights and responsibilities while working for the Level 2 award.  We are focusing on children’s active participation in decision making in all areas of school life, and learning about global issues and children’s rights.

We aim to provide a secure, happy and stimulating environment in which your child can learn, and we aim to provide activities, tasks and challenges that enable your child to become a confident, independent thinker and learner.

Although we are a small school with a strong sense of community, we are not small-minded in what we strive to achieve. Indeed, we have high expectations of the children, whether it is in extending the more able, training our athletes to perform to the best of their ability, or helping them to explore a more reflective dimension to their life. Through our specialism, real life experiences are brought into every subject. Year 9 students develop and produce their own magazines after the National Curriculum tests.

Year 11 students all receive a practice interview with experienced volunteers from our local and national business partners who include IBM and Air Products.  Year 10 graphics students produced prototype wine carriers for a national business. The best design was selected for commercial production by Laithwaites.  In a Year 9 Enterprise Day, all students worked in teams to develop and market a new frozen food product.
